Gideon knew she would be hesitant, he knew it, he had a past that said this was a game, but he was just enjoying it enough to not even realise how cautious she was. He kept moving his lips across her skin, savouring the taste. His name roused him from his almost trance. His blue eyes found hers, and then she met his lips, deepening the kiss.
He hadn’t even realised she’d thrown away her book until he felt both her hands touching him. His hands moved back to her ribs but this time, he was slightly firmer this time as he lifted her up, turning her around to face to him.
He relaxed his hands letting them fall back to her legs. His lips did not leave hers for a while, enjoying how it felt to have her hands on him. His hands kept moving across her legs until finally he wrapped his arms around her torso, bringing her to him closer. He pulled back from her mouth finally, and freeing hand, bought it up to her face, gently pushing the hair from her face, and then letting his thumb delicately stroke her skin. Now, as the feeling still had not washed through him, he wanted her to enjoy herself, and he absolutely wanted to be the source. “What would take your fancy then my love?” Gid asked, not smirking, completely devoid of that side of his personality still, instead, his voice was husky and calm, ready to have her want him exactly as he wanted her.
Now straddling his lap, Doe was able to easily deepen their embrace, her lips working still gently against his only now she added a bit of tongue into the mix, not wanting to kill this mood. This was different. Nicer, calmer. As much as she was itching to be touched, she didn’t feel as if that was a necessity and she would be entirely content if they spent the rest of the night just as they were. Both of her hands came to rest on his arms, her fingertips rubbing idle circles over his sleeves. She wondered, vaguely, if this was as nice of a moment for him as it was for her. She was happy. It was times such as these when she felt special, almost, knowing that she may have been the only one he’d spent time like this with.
She was distracted by his words, musing over them for a moment. Dorcas would have loved it if they just kept this up, but she supposed he was asking what more she would want. That was a tough question to answer. To buy herself time, she leaned back in to resume kissing him, this time much softer than before, and simultaneously worked to unbutton his shirt. Once she’d pushed it over his shoulders and pushed herself forward to feel his skin against hers. Her eyes sought his and she hesitated for a moment, still trying to figure out what to tell him, before opting to just say what was on her mind. “I like this,” she murmured, a small smile on her face. “So I want… This, but I also want you to touch me. Anywhere. As much as you want.”
Gideon didn’t disrupt her at all when she moved against him, straddling him. He stay momentarily leaning back on his hands, until her lips met his. Then it was time to move. His arms moved around her, holding her around the bottom of her ribs, feeling her skin meet his own and enjoying the sensation of being able to just hold her there. It was as if she were his, and his alone, and by the simple act of holding her small frame as her tongue moved across his, he felt something he didn’t think he’d ever felt before. She truly was his, and in that moment, and only that moment, it just didn’t frighten him.
Then she moved, he kisses seemed to trail away as he shut his eyes, her words left ringing in his ear, then she was against him, reading, that quickly. Gid blinked a few times, tilting his head to the side as he looked down over her and her head so firmly planted against his chest. What had been a game; a time to flex his abilities at her for the sake of victory seemed to change as a new feeling washed over him. The smirk was gone, in fact all of that ego seemed to disappear at the idea of just appreciating exactly what was in front of him.
He didn’t move for a while, content to allow whatever this was to wash through him. It was calming in a way. As he eyes moved across her skin, he longed to have his lips there. So he did just that. Carefully his head ducked down meeting her cheek delicately. She’d probably assume this was a ploy, he knew that, but she’d eventually realise otherwise. Then they moved over the curve of her jaw, toward the soft skin on her neck. He closed his eyes as the flowery scent that was completely her own filled his nostrils. His eyes of their own accord seemed to slip from her waist and down her thighs, just wanting to feel her skin burn under his fingertips, not even thinking of where they could move to, or how he could tease her, he just let his fingers dance across the side of her legs, exploring what was so decidedly his in a way nothing had ever been so.
She had been expecting him to retaliate. Dorcas wasn’t really reading; her eyes were moving across the page, sure, picking up every fifth word or so, but she wasn’t focusing. She didn’t want to. This was a game, and she was awaiting Gideon’s next move. She anticipated a couple of options, such as what would happen if he pushed her off his lap to punish her for teasing him, or just going all for it until she really had no choice but to give in. It didn’t come, though. Instead, his lips met her cheek and she froze, confused, waiting for the blow. Still, nothing. He was right- his gesture was met with suspicion, but the longer he went on, the less sure she was. Perhaps this was a ploy. Perhaps this was meant to trick her, win the game, and if that was his intention, then he’d one. Fair and square.
Slowly, Doe closed the book in her hands and let it slide to the ground, out of the way. For the moment she just enjoyed the kisses and his touch, her eyes closing. This felt different. This was more along the lines of what he did when she asked him to help lull her to sleep, and although she relaxed against him quite quickly, she wasn’t necessarily ready to fall asleep on him. No, this was nice- things like this every once in awhile were right up her alley, not to mention completely surprising.
She probably could have sat there all night if he kept that up, but eventually she began to itch for more. Not wanting to pull the mood in any lesser direction, Dorcas slowly lifted her head and pressed a gentle kiss to his chin. “Gideon,” she whispered, only to catch his attention before reaching over to pull his face towards hers, leaning in to kiss him. Maybe this was all part of his game, his plan. Perhaps he wanted her to put down her book without forcing her to put down her book. Whatever it was, she liked it, so… If it was a ploy, well. Whatever. Deepening the kiss, just ever so slightly, she trailed her fingertips lightly along his jawline. This was nice.

Gideon smirked as she glared at him, finally dismissing her book. He folded his arms behind him as he sat away from her. “A fowl?” Gid repeated, his eyebrow quirking. “Hang on love,” he said, raising his hands as high as his head in surrender comically. “We made no rules what so ever,” he told her as he crossed his arms behind his back again. “And for the record I didn’t disturb your book at all,” he reminded her in an annoyingly smug tone.
“I believe I left your book completely alone and concentrated on elsewhere,” he said indicating the small circles of moisture left as a trail down her stomach. He winked at her. “If I was disturbing your thoughts, shouldn’t that be your fault, not mine?” Gid asked.
He tilted his head smirking again as he met her eye. At her sudden change in demeanour he raised both eyebrows, surprised that messing with her had gotten him rewarded. He moved onto his backside more, leaning back on his hands as he looked over at her. “I have many requests,” he growled, his eyes narrowing seductively. “But for the sake of romance, I think I’ll let you chose whatever takes your fancy,” he finished, his mouth turning up into a devilish slow forming smile.
Dorcas furrowed her brow. “You can’t be moving me around or anything. That’s like saying you can pick me up and toss me around but as long as I still have the book, it’s legal,” she argued, cocking an eyebrow. She’d lay down ground rules next time, though. He’d clearly done well to distract her already and she’d already tossed the book down, so it was evident that he’d won.
… Or had he?
As an idea struck her, she rolled up so she was on her hands and knees, a small smirk on her face. Act seductive; that ought to do the trick, wouldn’t it? “Whatever takes my fancy, huh?” she grinned, crawling over to him and straddling his lap, her hands landing on the side of his face. “I like this idea.” With that, Doe leaned in and pressed her lips against his, holding it for a moment before really deepening it, her tongue sliding into his mouth. Before she could get carried away, she tore her lips away and replaced them on his neck, trailing kisses down to his collar bone then back up, following his jaw to his ear. “I know exactly what takes my fancy,” she murmured, and as she whispered that, she reached over to grab the book that had landed, quite conveniently, only a few feet away from him.
Once she had the book, she turned around and plopped down into his lap and curled up, reaching around to force his arms over so they were loosely around her waist. Well, it wasn’t as if she was lying- that really did ‘take her fancy’. Her head landed on his chest and she cracked open the book again, not really reading, considering she had a feeling he’d retaliate pretty quickly.

I’m needed?
What? No. I mean, yes? Maybe. Don’t worry about it. I just like having you around. That’s all.

You are growing up, love.
See! I told you~
I’m going to go hide with my books now.
No, I don’t, Doe. We both know that. We love each other but we are not in love with each other.
But, okay. As long as that is cleared
I’ve never needed a guy in my life. I was happy up until this year without one. Although slowly, I’m finding myself needing Gideon more and more. But let’s ignore that.
